Welcome to my fantastic webpage!

I created this page after stepping away from social media - not because I'm shouting at clouds or fashioning aluminium headgear ...yet, but because I realised that I was hanging onto things like Bookface and Instaspam purely so people could reach out to me... if they ever felt the urge.

I suppose I once believed that Herr Zucker & Co. were up to something good, but like many stories, it all went a bit wonky once the dollars started rolling in. The internet used to be a happy place where you walked down your own path, but now it seems that those platforms do whatever they can to keep you engaged the longest, regardless of whether it enriches you or not.

So if you're a friend who's lost contact, or a humanoid that I've met professionally who needs to connect, click the thing below. I'll respond and gladly share proper contact details.

A Bit About Me

I happily work on the Technical Management Team at Adlib in the UK, spending my days deep in pro audio systems, software development and electronics integration. I'm all about preserving genuine audio quality, trying to do my part in the ongoing effort of disenshittification; - pushing back against the shiny, marketing-led 'groundbreaking innovations' that tend to chase novely over actual progress.

One of the things I enjoy most about my role is working with, and mentoring the next generation of talent coming through - it's one of the best things about Adlib. Not that I'm a shining example or anything - more like a well-meaning mess with a few years head start.

Outside of work, I stay busy with aviation (EASA PPL SEP), cryptography, mathematics, embedded systems, and audio production - basically all the things that reward overthinking and quietly punish getting it wrong. I also have two cats who couldn't care less about signal integrity or synchronisation, but will absolutely notice if their packets are late by four seconds.

Worth noting: I'm quite content in my current role and not seeking new opportunities. This space exists purely as a way to stay connected with colleagues, friends, and the occasional interesting conversation.

The Journey So Far

2021 - Present

Systems Technical Manager

Adlib, Liverpool

Back at Adlib in a management role, focusing on technical strategy and helping develop the next generation of engineers. It's quite rewarding seeing the team grow and tackle increasingly complex challenges.

2018 - 2021

Product Manager - Software

CODA Audio International, Hanover

A fascinating few years in Deutschland working on software products for the professional audio industry. Different culture, different approaches - learned quite a lot about international collaboration.

2008 - 2018

Systems Engineer

Adlib, Liverpool

A decade of learning the ropes in systems engineering, from the fundamentals right through to complex integrations. This is where I developed my appreciation for doing things properly rather than just quickly.

2006 - 2010

BSc (Hons) Music Technology 1st

University of Huddersfield

Learned some hardened theory behind what makes audio systems actually work, which turned out to be rather useful. Made some great friends, lots of whom I'm glad to see properly established in the industry.

Get in Touch

Whether you're an old friend, a colleague I've worked with, someone I've met at a tradeshow, or just someone who's stumbled across this page and fancies a chat about audio, software, or the general state of things - I'd be glad to hear from you.

I respond to messages promptly and am happy to share direct contact details for ongoing conversations.

Your details won't be shared with anyone, naturally.
